Autoimmune Diseases
Over 50 different autoimmune diseases have been identified that collectively affect 3-5% of the population of Europe and North America. An aberrant T-cell response underlies a number of important autoimmune diseases including rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, multiple sclerosis and inflammatory bowel disease.
Our autoimmune disease programme is aimed at developing therapeutics for the treatment of these T-cell mediated autoimmune diseases. The molecular target in this programme is a potassium channel expressed in effector memory T-cells. This programme recently completed lead optimisation.
