Ion Channels
It is widely recognised that, although ion channels underlie many potential opportunities across diverse indications, they remain under-exploited as a class of drug target. This is principally because other classes of target, including enzymes and GPCRs, have proven more accessible to conventional discovery technologies.
The utility of ion channels as targets for therapeutic intervention is broad and includes opportunities such as atrial fibrillation, overactive bladder, a variety of autoimmune disorders, cancer, pain as well as a number of CNS disorders amongst many others.
We believe that, by utilising a unique multi-disciplinary approach, we will be able to successfully develop ion channel-modulating drugs in areas of unmet medical need. Our success in our most advanced programmes indicates that this approach is working.
