Developing medicines, from the laboratory to the clinic

The Ion Channel Opportunity

It is widely recognized that, although ion channels underlie many potential opportunities across diverse indications, they remain under-exploited as a class of drug targets. This is principally because other classes of target, including enzymes and GPCRs, have proven more accessible to conventional discovery technologies.

The utility of ion channels as targets for therapeutic intervention is broad and includes opportunities such as atrial fibrillation, pain, a variety of auto-immune disorders, overactive bladder, irritable bowel syndrome, cancer as well as a number of CNS disorders amongst many others.

We believe that, by utilizing a unique multi-disciplinary approach, we will be able to successfully develop ion channel-modulating drugs in areas of unmet medical need. Our success in our most advanced programs suggests that this approach is working.
